For effective service to the community, administration and <br />Implementation of City policy, each employee must cooperate to the <br />fullest with all fellow employees and the public. City employees <br />have a high degree of visibility to the general public and there <br />fore must exercise particular care and caution to ensure that all <br />work undertaken is accomplished expediently and with efficiency. <br />To achieve this goal, employees must adhere to established rules <br />and procedures and follow the instructions of their supervisors <br />and department heads. <br />2. It is the responsibility of each employe' <br />a.Perform assigned duties to the best of the employee's <br />ability at all times, and to continually strive to <br />improve performance. <br />b. Render prompt and courteous City services to the *'lic <br />at all times. <br />c.Read, understand and comply with the rules and <br />regulations as set forth in this Policy as well as <br />departmental rules. All employees shall sign a statement <br />acknowledging their reading of such. Any employee who <br />fails to comply with any of the provisions of this Policy <br />or rules and regulations adopted thereunder, shall be <br />subject to disciplinary action, including discharge, as <br />set forth in this policy. <br />d.Conduct him/herself with decorum and respond to requests <br />for information from the public and other employees with <br />courtesy and patience. <br />e.Report all unsafe conditions and injuries to the <br />employee's immediate supervisor on appropriate forms. <br />f.Recommend ideas for improving City services, or methods <br />for achieving greater efficiency or economy. <br />106. APPLICABILITY <br />1. The balance of this Policy shall apply to all employees and <br />officers in the City except the following; <br />a. All elected officials and members of boards and <br />commissions. <br />b. City Administrator, City Consultants. <br />c.Consultants' contract employees and others rendering <br />temporary professional services. <br />d.Volunteer personnel and personnel appointed to serve <br />without pay on advisory boards or commissions. Volunteer <br />personnel may be subject to department rules.
