Mayor <br />Re: Shoreland Flexibility Request <br />Dear Mayor <br />The Orono City Council has reviewed your proposed Shoreland <br />Flexibility Request and has no objection to any of the specific <br />elements. We applaud your efforts to adhere to the DNR requirements <br />while struggling with the ongoing problem of existing non-conforming <br />development. <br />We would encourage our sister cities in the Lake Minnetonka community <br />to carefully review new development and redevelopment when it occurs, <br />and make every effort to minimize the impact of development on the <br />Lake, especially by limiting impervious surfaces to the greatest <br />possible extent, as well as by requiring appropriate storm water <br />runoff quality control measures. <br />Sincerely, <br />Barbara A.
