Gaffron, Asst Planning & Zoning <br />August 10, 1992 CITY OF ORONO <br />North Shore Drive Marina - License Issues & <br />Recommendations <br />List of Exhibits <br />Exhibit A - <br />Exhibit B - <br />Exhibit C - <br />Exhibit D - <br />Exhibit E - <br />Exhibit F - <br />Exhibit G - <br />Exhibit H - <br />Discussion <br />1992 License Application <br />1984 License (last license issued) <br />Past Hardcover/Parking Plan <br />L;!-idscape Plan Compilation <br />History of Number of Slips <br />Notes Regarding Issues <br />May 28, 1992 Letter <br />July 17, 1992 Letter to LMCD <br />Staff has meet with Mark and Debbie Breneman, operators of <br />North Shore Drive Marina, 3 or 4 times this spring and summer. <br />The various issues brought up in the May 28, 1992 letter have <br />been discussed with the Brenemans, and I have outlined my <br />thoughts on these in the notes attached as Exhibit F, <br />Based on the attached documentation, discussions with the <br />Marina operators, and in an attempt to work towards getting a <br />license issued, I would make the following recommendation. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval of a license for North Shore Drive <br />Marina for the 1992 Season, issued retroactively to include the <br />1991, 1990 and 1988 seasons, finding that the concerns of the <br />City which led to the withholding of previous licenses have been <br />satisfactorily resolved. This license is issued subject to the <br />following conditions: <br />1. License is issued for 93 slips in the water, with the <br />following breakdown; <br />76 rental <br />4 service <br />13 transient/rack staging/company boats/etc <br />93 Total <br />2. No more than 20 of the 72 existing dry stack spaces <br />may be used as dry rental slips for boats stored for on- <br />demand launching. The remaining 52 drystack slots may be <br />used to house boats that are stored for service, sale, etc, <br />except as noted in item 3 below.
