This grant will reimburse law enforcement
agencies for the cost of a candidate who already has a two or four-year degree from a regional
accredited college or university while they obtain the required training need to become a Peace
Officer in MN. This includes the candidates salary while attending school.

Orono Police Department applied and was awarded a ICPOET grant in the amount of $50,000.
The $50,000 will cover the cost of tuition, wages and most of the Fringe/benefits while attending
school.
2.Staff Recommendation:
Motion to approve the ICPOET Grant.
AGENDA ITEM

COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
1).
