A RESOLOTION INDICATING SUPPORT FOR A <br />GRANT APPLICATION TO FUND A COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC ACCESS PROPOSAL <br />ON MAXWELL BAY <br />WHBREASr in 1983 and 1986 Citizen Task Forces determined <br />the need for additional reliable car and trailer parking spaces <br />on Lake Minnetonka to support public access, and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources has <br />developed a proposal that makes significant progress towards <br />meeting the parking space goal while addressing many concerns of <br />the City and lakeshore residents regarding the development of a <br />public access, and <br />WHEREAS, the proposal is part of a comprehensive effort <br />that will involve a Task Force consisting of the lakeshore <br />cities, lakeshore organizations, and residents working to develop <br />an overall plan for reaching the total parking space goal, and <br />WHEREAS, the comprehensive proposal will reach the total <br />parking space goal more effectively than a piecemeal effort. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City <br />Council does hereby indicate its support for the DNR's <br />application for funding through the LCMR to enable purchase and <br />development of properties to implement its comprehensive public <br />access proposal on Maxwell Bay. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />Minnesota at a regular meeting held January 27, 1992. <br />ATTEST:Barbara A.
