15. "Seepage Pit Tr Leaching Pit or Dry Well" - An <br />underground pit into which a sewage tank discharges effluent or <br />other liquid waste and from which the liquid seeps into the <br />surrounding soil through the bottom and openings in the side of the <br />pit, including sewage tanks which are not watertight. <br />16. "Septage" - Those solids and liquids removed <br />during periodic maintenance of a septic or aerobic tank, or those <br />solids and liquids which are removed from a holding tank. <br />17. "Septic Tank" - Any watertight, covered <br />receptacle designed and constructed to receive t’ discharge of <br />sewage from a building sewer, separate solids from xiquid, digest <br />organic matter, store septage through a period of detention and to <br />allow clarified liquids to discharge for further treatment in <br />another septic tank or to a soil treatment system. <br />18. "Sewage" - Any water carried domestic waste, <br />exclusive of footing and roof drainage, from any dwelling or <br />other structure. Domestic waste includes liquid waste produced by <br />toilets, bathing, culinary operations, and the floor di.^ins <br />associated with these sources and specifically excludes anxmal <br />waste and commercial or industrial waste water. <br />■ >. <br />I <br />I <br />19. "Site Evaluator/System Designer" - A person <br />licensed under the provisions of the City Code to engage in the <br />business of sewage treatment system site evaluation and design. <br />20. "Soil Treatment Area" - That area of trench or <br />bed bottom which is in direct contact with the drainfield rock of <br />the soil treatment system, and for mounds, that area to the edges <br />of the required absorption width and extending five feet beyond the <br />ends of the rock layer. <br />21. "Structure" - Anything which is built, <br />constructed or erected, an edifice or building of any kind, or any <br />piece of work artificially built up or composed of parts joined <br />together in some definite manner, which requires a location on, <br />below or above the ground. <br />22. "Treatment" - The purification of raw sewage by <br />the removal or neutralization of pollutants through separation, <br />bacteriological processes, biological and physical filtration, and <br />gasification. <br />Subd. 3. Terms Not Defined Herein. Words and terms not <br />defined herein shall have those meanings as set forth in the Zoning <br />Chapter as amended, the Subdivision Chapter as amended, and MPCA <br />Regulations Chapter 7080. <br />Subd. 4. General Provisions. <br />A. Treatment Required. All sewage generated within <br />the City shall be disposed of by connection to the City sewer
