Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />Members of the Orono City <br />Council and Planning <br />Commission (see list attached) <br />Re: 1390 Railroad Avenue <br />Variance Request for Garage Construction <br />Gentlemen and Ms. Barrows; <br />This office represents Olai and Hilda Hanson, owners of <br />property located at 1390 Railroad Avenue. By letter dated <br />March 12, 1987, I requested that the Orono City Council and <br />Orono City Planning Commission reconsider the Hansons' request <br />for a variance to facilitate the construction of a garage. <br />On June 8, 1987, I appeared before the Orono City Council <br />on behalf of the Hansons to discuss the garage variance. <br />At that time, the Council referred the Application back to <br />the Planning Commission for further review upon the following <br />conditions; <br />1. The Hansons were to provide the City Council <br />and Planning Commission with additional information regarding <br />soil conditions relating to the placement of the proposed <br />garage. <br />2. The Hansons were to settle their boundary lino <br />dispute with their neighbor to the north, Mrs. Golden. <br />Since the June 8th City Council meeting, a consulting engineer <br />inspected the property with regard to soil conditions sur­ <br />rounding the placement of the garage. Attached please find <br />a copy of Wenck Associates, Inc.'s Juno 16, 1987 letter to <br />me with regard to this matter. By letter dated June 18,
