Council Update <br />July 8. 1994 <br />Page 2 <br />6. Internal Financial Controls. As directed by Council. Tom Kuehn has contacted the <br />City's auditors regarding the auditors’ concern about internal financial controls in terms <br />of the division of responsibilities in the finance department. The auditors are reviewing <br />the current operation in preparation for a meeting with Tom Kuehn and myself at which <br />options for addressing the division of duties will be explored. A recommendation will <br />be provided to the Council at the July 25 Council meeting. <br />7. Performance Evaluations. The clerical/technical and public works maintenance <br />performance evaluations have been completed using the new performance evaluation <br />forms. I will be meeting with the staff teams to evaluate the process and forms. <br />8. Employee Survey. The results of the Employee Survey, tabulated by deparunent, have <br />now been received. I will be scheduling meetings with each departmem to review the <br />results. A Police Department meeting has been scheduled for Thursday. July 21 to <br />review and discuss the survey results. <br />9. Old Crystal Bay Road Bridge Replacement. The bridge replacement project will begin <br />on July 18. Old Crysul Bay Road will be closed to through traffic between Highway <br />12 and Watertown Road from July 18 through October. Letters have been sem to the <br />residents in the area to notify them of the project. A news release will also be published <br />the week of July 11 to notify Orono residents of the project and to encourage them to use <br />alternate routes that have a signalized intersection on Highway 12.
