Gaffron reviewed the staff report and staled that staff <br />retommended apptwal of the request to replace a lakeshore retaining wall and stairway, <br />sul^ect to the coiiditions listed in the staff report. James McManus stated that they do <br />not plan to do any work on tbe north side so they are in agreement with the staff report. <br />He stated they would do everything possible to minimize erosion. He stated they would <br />prefer to use keystone instead of timbers. <br />Chair Schroeder noted this was a public hearing; no one present wished to speak. <br />Rowlette inquired if the keystone would change anything, and Gaffion responded that it <br />wouldn't, indicating it was just a different material with a somewhat different look than <br />timber. Nolan inquired if tbe applicants had considered what they would do to stabilize <br />the area iminediately adjacent to the lake, possibly by adding boulders or additional rip <br />rap to stabilize the shoreline. McManus indicated be would consider doing this. <br />It was moved by Nolan, seconded by Rowlette. to recommend approval of #1931 <br />Conditional Use Permit/Variance for Megan Tully and James McManus at 1910 <br />Shadywood Road to allow replacement of ? retaining wall stn'Cture. with the conditions <br />that the vegetation be replaced, a work plan be submitted to the City, and the time limit <br />for construction be a period of two weeks from commencement of work.
