All of
the remaining 10 properties that were not included in the original
application are now included in the current application. The total
vacation of Forest Boulevard is now realised.
At the March 28, 1988 Council meeting the staff was directed to work
with the remaining property owners in order to complete the lotal vacation
of Forest Boulevard.
Once again, the staff can cite the following findings to support the
current vacation application.
1. The steep topography and location of the i^horeline of Forest Lake
within the platted right-of-way would prohibit road construction.
2. There are no existing utilities within the subject area nor are
any utilities planned within this area of the dedicated roadway.
3. There are no drainageways or protected wetlands within the
subject area.
4. This area of Forest Boulevard serve no current public purpose and
no future public purpose or need.
5. The Orono Council in March of 1988 directed the Orono Staff to
work with the remaining property owners so that a complete vacation of
Forest Boulevard could be realized.
The Planning Commission may remember the letter from Mr. Nelson
(Exhibit F), submitted in the original application that advised of his
opposition to the vacation in front of his or Mr. Johnson's property (Lot
1, 2, 6 3, Block 6, Saga Rill Revised).
