MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />HELD MAY 17, 1993 <br />ZONING FILE #1827 - CONT. <br />Mabusth noted the removal of the plastic under the rock landscape <br />area would reduce hardcover by 818 s.f. or 10+%. <br />Chair Schroeder asked if the applicant has looked at <br />removaIs. <br />other <br />Nelson noted he intends to remove the walkway, but this area will <br />be overhung by the new roof. <br />Nolan asked about the concrete pad to the left of the garage. <br />Nelson said he would be happy to remove tnis also. <br />Chair Schroeder inquired the status of the patio area. <br />Nelson said he could not remove a portion of such without <br />destroying the entire patio. <br />It was moved by Peterson, seconded by Nolan, to recommend approval <br />of Application #1827 for Richard Henry Nelson, 3908 Cherry Avenue, <br />approving variances to replace his existing roof with another that <br />will extend outside the existing footprint of the house and the <br />addition of a rear side deck subject to the plastic underlain with <br />rock, concrete walkway on the west side of the house, and the <br />concrete pad on the southeast side of garage be removed, and <br />conditioned upon the applicant working with staff to address the <br />drainage concerns. Ayes G, nays 1. Rowlette voted nay because she <br />wished to see more aggress*.e hardcover removals. <br />(#9) #1828 CHRISTOPHER TULLY, <br />1355 NORTH ARM DRIVE - <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - PUBLIC HEARING 10:10 - 10:15 P.M. <br />The Affidavit of Publication and Certificate of Mailing were notel. <br />Mabusth explained the applicant iias applied for a conditional use <br />permit to construct an accessory structure on his through lot. <br />noted all lots owned by the applicant in this area have been <br />combined. The area to the rear of the proposed structure is an <br />undeveloped road artd probably will remain so. The structure well <br />exceeds the required 35’ setback for a principal structure. <br />It was moved by Rowlette, seconded by Nolan, to recommend approval <br />of Application #1828 for Christopher Tully, 1355 North Arm Dr ve, <br />approving a conditional use permit to construct an accessory <br />structure on a through lot. Ayes 7, nays 0.
