MINDTHS OF THE ORONO PL.VNNING COMMISSION <br />meeting held on OCTOBER 17, 1994 <br />(i?I - ^1976 - Gamble - Continued) <br />Peter Achey of 4720 Bayside voiced his concent with being able to safely access the lots. <br />Due to the lay of the land, Achev felt placing the two driveways together would create a <br />hazard, while the peak of the road on Bayside would provide what he felt would be a <br />good safe entry. <br />Mabusth said the County prefers locating new curb cuts off County roads However, in <br />this case, the Countv would approve .ess at Bayside Road rather than McCulley, due to <br />the high usiige of McCulley Mr. Peters' "* noted a problem with combining the driveways <br />due to the sleep grade and said a safe acvess will be a priority <br />It was noted that a waikaway was shown for Lot 1 linking it to the Luce Line <br />Lindquist moved, Peterson seconded, to approve the two-lot subdivision application for <br />Don Gamble at 4680 Bayside Road to include the 8 SiatT recommendations listed, along <br />with the additional requirements that walkway area connecting Lot 1 to Luce Line be <br />constructed at existing grades with wood chips placed on surtace, and curb cuts subject to <br />approval by Hennepin County and the City oI Orono .Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />(HI) THIS ITEM WAS REiMOVED FROM THE AGEND.A <br />(Hi) #1895 PAT WOLFE, 2971 CASCO POINT ROAD - AFrER-THE-FAC I <br />VARLVNCES - CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING - 7:25-7:50 P..M. <br />The Cenitlcate of Mailing and Affidavit of Publication were noted. <br />Mr Wolfe was present. <br />GatVron reported this application is for an alier-the-fact variance lor a shed located in the <br />0-75 ’ zone. The shed is 10’xl2’, requiring a building permit, is located 8' Irorn the <br />shoreline, and constitutes 120 s f of hardcover within the lakeshore protected area It is <br />also 3.5' from the side lot line next to the public access and beach. The shed was totally <br />reconstructed, except for foundation slab, and would require the approval ot the City. <br />The DNR recommended denial of the variance and advised City' to enforce its regulations. <br />Gatfron said there is a problem with the exact location ot the side lot line. .A 1 orrens <br />action probably would be required to determine where the lot line is located. This could <br />result in the loss of public beach area. The neighbors have sent supportive letters noting <br />the shed has improved in appearance. <br />•s.
