Gerhardson <br />Title Public Works Director <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />Public Works <br />Item Description; Resolution - Designated Roadways for Posling No Parking <br />•me City of Orono has been working cooperatively with the Minnesota Department of Natural <br />aLurMS (DNR) to establish a public lake access to Lake Minnetonka on Maxwell Bay. Ora <br />of the goals of the DNR was to provide vehicle trailer parking so thar roadside parking coul <br />be eliminated. <br />The City of Orono has agreed with the DNR :.nd has supported the efforts of the DNR to <br />eliminate roadside parking within a 1/2 mile area of the lake access and boat launch. <br />Most of the area within the 1/2 mile area is already posted no parking so it is necessary to post <br />those "gaps" no parking. <br />In order to accomplish ora of the DNR's goals to totally eliminate roadside parkii^ within *e <br />1/2 mile area of the access and boat launch, the areas already posted no parking and the gaps <br />should be posted "No Parking Tow Away Zone." <br />The roads in the area affected are under Hennepin County jurisdiction. Therefore the Orono <br />Council must request by resolution Hennepin County Public Works to post the designated roads <br />"No Parking Tow Away Zone." 1 have prepared a resolution for Council review and action. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #requesting Hennepin County Public Works to post certain <br />roadways a "No Parking Tow Away Zone,
