Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323-0066
Dear Mr. Mayor,
I am a resident on Old Beach Road and wanted to express
my thoughts regarding the cul-de-sac to be proposed at
the upcoming January 9th meeting.
lie residents of Old Beach Road feel that a cul-de-sac
near County Road 19 is the only solution to the safety
problems that currently exsist on our street. According to
Hennepin County's report of 3,600 cars per day using Old
Road the previously proposed ”no turn” signage is simply difficult
treAfo^cefls indiLted by police. In addition. The exsisting
signage "No trucks”, "No parking” and ”30 MPH are also ineffec
tive traffic controls.
I was nearly struck down by a truck when I went to get my mail
this past fall. I have also witnessed cars speeding past buses
with flashing lights and stop sign extended. I •'®X®n??’B'gch°R^ad
near-Biss accidents pulling out of By driveway
1 was nearly broad-sided while atteBpting a si^aled, left-hand turn
into my driveway (someone passed on my left going approx. 50 mpn;
Your careful consideration of this matter is greatly appreciated
by the residents of Old Beach Road. Hopefully, our street will
become safer in the coming year.
Sincerely yours,
Kathryn^A. Modares
2480 Old Beach Road
Wayzata, MN 55391
cc: J.
