minutes OF THE REGULAR ORONO CTTY CXXJNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 12, 1994 <br />(#18) TEMPORARY STAFFING FOR MICROFICHE PROJECT - POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT <br />Moorse reported that the police department, after keeping a hard copy of each file for <br />three years, nucrofiche's each file. Due to a bu^ work load, the departnnent is unable to <br />keep up with this procedure and requests hiring their present lagh school intern to assist <br />in this project. Since the intern is fiuniliar with the workings of the department, this <br />would aid in the efficiency of the procedure. <br />It was noted that other police departments have begun using imaging tecluiology. The <br />City will be examining the results of Minnetonka Police Department's use of this <br />relativdy new technology. <br />Hurt moved, Callahan seconded, to authorize the hiring of Jeremiah Calla^tan as a rart- <br />time temporary employee at $6.259/hr not to exceed a total of $3 12.95. <br />(•#19) WINTER ACTIVITIES ORONO GOLF COURSE <br />Callahan moved, Jabbour seconded to approve the use of the Orono Golf Course by Gear <br />West of Long Lake and the public for cross-country skiing and sledding for one evening <br />per week and Saturday and Sunday afternoons during January and February, weather <br />permitting. Concession stand will be open which will ofiset the cost of personnd to rtaff <br />the club house. Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />Hurr voiced her opinion that Gear West should share in the expense of maintaining <br />personnel for the club house.
