REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
DATE
ITEM NO: /{j
^6 j
:?a^Qll(jJL 1996
Department Approval:
Name Ron Moorse
Title City Administrator
Item Description:
Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section:
Administrator’s Report
Scheduling of a Work Session to Discuss Potential 1997 Sewer Projects
After an analysis of the capacity of the sewer trunk system shared by Orono, Long Lake and
Medina, the City of Long Lake has determined that there is sufficient capacity in the trunk
system to accommodate the additional flows contemplated by Orono’s current MUSA amendment
application. This was the last major obstacle to the MUSA amendment approval process.
Because it now appears the MUSA amendment will move forward, the final steps in planning
and preparing for the potential construction of several sewer projects in 1997 needs to move into
the final stages. This can best be accomplished in a Council work session. The Council may
at this time want to select a date and time for a work session to discuss the final steps required
to plan and prepare for the sewer hot spot projects and the Highway 12 sewer expansion project.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Motion to select a date and time for a work session to discuss potential 1997 sewer projects.
