« <br />y <br />ORDINANCE NO., 2ND SERIES <br />-s <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ORONO, MINNESOTA, AMENDING ORONO <br />CITY CODE CHAPTER 2 ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION AND GENERAL <br />GOVERNMENT", ORDLNANCE NUMBERS, 2ND SERIES, AND ORDINANCE NO. 23, <br />2ND SERIES BY CHANGING A PROVISION RELATING TO SALARIES OF THE <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS; AND, BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE ORONO <br />CITY CODE CHAPTER 1 RELATING TO DEFINITIONS AND GENERAL <br />PROVISIONS. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br />Section 1. Orono City Code Sec. 2.17 is hereby amended to read: <br />SEC. 2.17. SALARIES OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Subd. 1 Salaries of the Mayor and Council members, effective January 1, 1997, <br />and which amounts are deemed reasonable, are hereby fixed as follows: <br />A. The salary of the Mayor shall be $4,200.00 per year, paid monthly. <br />monthly. <br />B. The salary of each Council member shall be $3,500.00 per year, paid <br />Subd. 2. In accordance with Minnesota Statutes, Section 4.5.11, any changes in <br />the foregoing shall be by ordinance and shall not take effect until after the next <br />succeeding City election. <br />Section 2. Orono City Code Chapter 1 entitled "General Provisions and Definitions <br />Applicable to the Entire City Code Including Penalty for Violation" is hereby adopted in its <br />entirety, by reference, as though repeated verbatim herein. <br />Section. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its <br />passage and publication. <br />Passed by the City Council this 23 day of August, 1996, by a vote of <br />nays. <br />ayes and <br />ATTEST:Edward J.
