This area includes some multi-family housing that <br />is in need of substantial rehabilitation. The city of Long Lake has suggested that part of the <br />overall solution to the problems of the neighborhood is to rehab the multi-family housing units. <br />They are proposing that the city of Orono join with the city of Long Lake in a joint grant <br />application through tte Livable Communities Act to obtain funding for the rehabilitation. This <br />joint effort would fit in well with the city ’s housing action plan in which Orono indicates it will <br />cooperate with neighboring cities to fulfill area wide housing needs.
