Data Processing Activities: <br />The Management Analyst/Accountant operates computers and a variety of computer software <br />applications and peripherals. Some of the specific data processing functions include: <br />1. Prepare source documents, enter data, and review for content, completeness, and <br />accuracy as data is entered. <br />2. Audit computerized reports for accuracy, and develop tests to maintain the accuracy ot <br />the software. <br />3. Use routine and comple.x features ot software applications. <br />4. Define and develop specific applications to fill departmental needs using software <br />programs and to document the related instructions and processes. <br />5. Work with the city's network manager to implement electronic data processing <br />solutions to meet the assigned department's administrative needs. <br />Records/Tnformation Management: <br />The Management Analyst/Accountant is responsible for developing and improving the <br />information management systems tor assigned departments and for meeting the information <br />management requrrements of the finance department. The following areas generally describe the <br />important functions of information management performed in the position: <br />1 . Analyzing, creating, and improving administrative policies, procedures and programs <br />of the assigned department, and those utility accounting, payroll, and personnel policies and <br />records maintained by the finance department. <br />2. Collecting, designing, establishing, and providing security for the method or system of <br />recording information and ensuring information is available when needed. Monitoring and <br />maintaining records, including purging files and providing for their permanent storage, in <br />accordance with local procedures and state statutes. Establishing and organizing departmental <br />libraries. <br />3. Developing, designing, conducting, and completing surveys, applications, and forms. <br />Vfi<;rpn.nneniis Administrative .Activities: <br />The Management .Analyst/Accountanl provides support to assigned departments in the following <br />manner: <br />1 . Bv documenting, analyzing, and recommending improvements to departmental <br />administrative policies, procedures, and programs. <br />* t
