ORDINANCE NO.SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND MUNICIPAL <br />ZONING CODE SECTION 10.20. SUBDIVISION 3(A) <br />THE ORONO CITY COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. MuM'cipal Zoning Code Section 10.20, Subdivision 3(A) is hereby <br />deleted and the following language siibs.ituted in its place: <br />Subd.3. Conditional Uses. Within any "R-1 A” One Family Residential <br />District, no structure or land shall be used for the following uses except by <br />conditional use permit: <br />A. Schools. Public schools and parochial or private schools which <br />teach a curriculum similar to a public school provided no building shall be located <br />within fifty feet of any lot line of an abutting lot in an "R" District and that a fence <br />be erected fifteen feet or more from all street lot lines where the abutting u.se is tor <br />open play, and nursery schools providing fifty square feet of playground space per <br />pupil. ^ ,, <br />1. Uses Accessory To A High School. The following uses <br />which are accessory to a High School use require a separate conditional use permit: <br />a. Indoor Ice Arenas. All such facilities and structures <br />shall be located on the same tax parcel as the principal Hi>’h School Use to which <br />they arc accessory . No such .structures shall be located less than 100 feet from any <br />lot line of an abutting lot in an "R ' District. .\11 such facilities shall be owned and <br />operated by the school district, or by a non-profit organization under a land lease <br />arrangement with the school district. Such facilities shall not be separated from the <br />principal High School use by a public road. <br />SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and publication <br />according to law . <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono on this 26th day of Febmary'. 1996. by a vote of----ayes and <br />__nays. <br />ATTEST: <br />Dorothy .M.
