The purpose of this action item is to gain Council approval for Bridge deck maintenance for <br />two of the city’s bridges. <br /> <br />2. Background. The city’s three bridges are inspected every two years in accordance with the state <br />bridge inspection program standards. Recent inspections have identified two of the bridge decks in need <br />of minor repairs and preventive maintenance. MMA Flood Sealing is a maintenance process to prevent <br />moisture intrusion and chloride (salt) penetration, Resists effects of UV rays, weathering and aging and <br />prevents premature deterioration of the surface. This maintenance is done to extend the life expectancy of <br />our bridges. <br /> <br />3. Project Scope. The Fox St. bridge (# 27B13) and Ferndale Road West bridge (#27B86) decks shall be <br />repaired and sealed. Fox St. bridge work will include concrete deck patching <br /> <br />4. Cost. Public Works received quote from one contractor for MMA Flood Sealing and a “no Bid” <br />reply from Redstone Construction LLC. A summary of the quotes received are listed in the table below. <br />The lowest quote was from PCiRoads. LLC for $15,671.85 <br /> <br />Contractor Total Quote <br />PCiRoads. I recommend the City Council accept the quote from PCiRoads LLC for <br />Bridge deck repairs <br /> <br />7. COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to authorize PCiRoads.
