Curbside Contract Extension Agreement for 1998 - 2000 <br />City of Orono ond E-Z Recycling <br />TOs Agreement extends the 1993 - 1997 Recycling Collection Curbside Contract between the City of Orono and <br />u JI"* ■"‘^'xally agree that the contract aboveIS extended through December 31, 2000. <br />This Extension Agreement is subject to the following amendments to the original contract: ' <br />1. Annual Increase based on increased household counts <br />The Contractor will receive a prorated annual increase based on the current cost per household per month <br />calculat^ on any increased household count in the preceding year, beginning with the household counts at <br />jJecemDerjl, 1998. <br />2. Material Revenue Sharing <br />Effective August 1, 1995, the Contractor instituted revenue sharing for newsprint. If the <br />market value for new«;onnt is over $50 per ton, the Contractor will rebate the City $5 per ton. If the market <br />y^ue of newspnnt v. uv*. r $!00 per ton, the Contractor will rebate the City $10 per ton. The Contractor will use <br />the monthly average v.. • price from Waldorf, Pioneer Paper and Weyerhaeuser to determine tlie amount to be <br />paid. <br />f'"' recycling newsprint and plastics continue to fluetuate, effective January <br />1, 1998, the City agrees to share m market dotvntums with the Contractor. If the Contractor is paying more than <br />$5 per ton to recycle newsprint, the City will pay the Contractor 50% of the increased market downturn cost. <br />The Contractor will use the monthly average scale price from Waldorf, Pioneer Paper and Weyerhaeuser to <br />determine the increase. If the Contractor is paying more than $40 per ton to recycle plastic containers with a <br />ncwk the City will pay the Contractor 50% of the increased per ton market downturn cost. The Contractor will <br />use the monthly average scale price from Phoenix Recycling and Quality Check to determine the increase.
