A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
THE INSTALLATION OF NO PARKING SIGNS
IN THE EAGERNESS POINT NEIGHBORHOOD
WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal organization under the laws of the
State of Minnesota; and
WHEI^AS, a petition has been received from residents in this area documenting
problems associated with vehicle and boat trailer parking. This parking is the result of overflow
from the North Arm and Maxwell Bay bo?t landings. Problems include safety of children in the
area, damage to lawns, trash, and noise from early in the morning until late in the evening; and
WHEREAS, the street widths in this area range from 24 feet to less than 16 feet.
These street widths are substandard for on-street parking of numerous vehicles with trailers; and
WHEREAS, Antoinne Park is located adjacent to Fagemess Point Road and high
volumes of traffic are not desirable in the vicinity of the park; and
WHEREAS, the County Roads and other City Streets in the vicinity of the North
Arm and Maxwell Bay boat landing areas are posted for No Parking thus intensifying the parking
problems in the Fagemess Point neighborhood.
^ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council does
hereby authorize and direct the Orono Public Works Department to install No Parking signs for
"No Parking for Vehicles with Trailers" along Fagemess Point Road, Corral Road, Webb Street
and Concordia Street for the entire lengths of these streets and roads.
1997.
Approved by the Orono City Council at a regular Council meeting held on June 23,
ATTEST:
Dorothy M. Hallin, City Clerk Gabriel Jabbour, Mayor
Page 1 of 1
