June 11.1997
Orooo City Council
2730 Kellty Pailcway
Ctystal Bay, MN 55323
Dear Council Members:
The residents of Fagemcss Point are in agreement that the parking on our strert should be
restricted. Our goal b to eliminate the use of our neighborhood as a parking site for pubUc
Iff^inriiing site ovcrflow. Last year we were told diat die opoiing of the Maxwell Bay boat
launching site would alleviate this problem when, in feet, it has only worsened. Our concerns and
e?q)eriences are as follows:
Safety of our children and pets- The drivers rarely abide the posted speed limit putting all
residents at risk. In addition, our driveways are used as turn
arounds with little regard for children and pets who may be in
the area.
Destroying our lawns- When the south side of the street is foil, and increasingly when not
vehicles and trailers are being parked on our lawn. While many of the
offenders will move when confronted, it is frustrating to spend much of
our weekends policing the area.
Traffic- Paricing on both sides of the street obviously narrows the street, impeding the flow of
traffic for all Fagemess Point residents.
Trash- We are tired of picking up the Uquors bottles/cans and miscellaneous refose left behind on
our lawns and the wetland area belonging to Orono.
Noise- In the past few weeks alone, we have experienced activity as early as 6:00 a.m. continuing
well past midnight.
Boaters are in and out of our neighborhood throughout the day making the above mentioned
problems continuous. We take pride in our nei^borhood and hope you can understand our
concerns.
We sincerely appreciate your taking this matter into immediate consideration.
Signature/Address
Signature/Ad
Signature/Address
* 1-17' .
’5^
