Bonestroo <br />will survey the project area to obtain any additional Information, <br />Throughout the project, surveyors will be available to gather <br />additional Information, delineate wetlands, or stake property or <br />slope limits. <br />Geotechnical Analysis <br />A geotechnical exploration of the roadway soils will be <br />performed to determine design and construalon limitations. <br />■ Review Existing RIght-of-Way <br />Pr^ous plans and right-of-way maps will be reviewed so the <br />existing 66-foot right-of-way can be Incorporated Into the base <br />map. <br />Develop Plan and Profile <br />Using Mn/DOT State Aid design standards, Bonestroo will <br />develop the horizontal and vertical alignment for Ferndale Road. <br />A 35-mph design speed will be used. Sight distance corrections <br />may be required to meet design standards. Retaining walls may <br />be needed. Cross sections will be developed to address any <br />issues regarding Impacts to adjacent land. <br />Analyze Roadway Hydraulics and Stormwater Runoff <br />The stormwater runoff from the roadway and surrounding land <br />will be analyzed to determine the need for and spacing of catch <br />basins and manholes. <br />Analyze Sanitary Sewer System Needs <br />The sanitary sewer system In the project area will be analyzed. At <br />this time. It appears that sanitary sewer Improvements would <br />consist of an extension from the Ferndale Place Development on <br />the east side of Ferndale Road north to CSAH 6. <br />Prepare Preliminary Geometric Layout <br />A preliminary typical sealon and geometric layout will be <br />prepared. This will Include a trail on the east side of the roadway. <br />The layout will show the recommended lane widths. Intersection <br />layouts and extent of work beyond the proposed curb lines. <br />Prepare Preliminary Cost Estimate <br />Based on the preliminary layout, we will develop a preliminary <br />cost estimate using MrVDOT's Bid Analysis Management System <br />(BAMS). a <br />Review of Preliminary Layout and Cost Estimate <br />The Department of Transportation and the cities of Plymouth and <br />Orono will be given the opportunity to review and comment on <br />the layout and estimate. <br />Public Information Meeting <br />Affeaed property owners will have the opportunity to review <br />and comment on the plan at a public Information meeting. <br />Revise Preliminary Layout <br />The layout and cost estimate will be revised to reflect comments <br />received at the public Information meeting.
