• The slated expansion and total renovation of the Ridgedale Area Library will result in-among other
things~a doubling of the size of the present facility, development of the largest and most in-depth
children's collection in the entire library system, creation of a technology center/lab for public training
on current and emerging technologies, a large quiet study space, and a significant increase in overall
parking availability.
The Library is planning community information sessions in five locations in the
Ridgedale Library's service area in order to share renovation plans, provide a sneak
preview of the remodeled Ridgedale Library, and discuss interim relocation plans and
issues. I hope that you, and Mayor Gabriel Jabbour, and City Council members will be able
to attend one of them. These meetings are scheduled for:
Minnetonka City Hall, Wednesday, May 21,1997, 7:00 p.m.
Orono City Hall, Thursday, May 22,7:00 p.m.
Golden Valley City Hall, Wednesday, June 4, 7:00 p.m.
Plymouth Community Library, Thursday, June 5, 7:00 p.m.
Wayzata City Council Chambers, Tuesday, June 10, 7:00 p.m.
The Hennepin County Library is dedicated to meeting the current and future needs of
suburban residents through the construction process.
