MN 55323-0066 February 24,1997 Dear Residents of the Bracketts Point Neighborhood: The City Engineer has completed a Feasibility Report concluding that construction of sanitary sewer and force main to ser\e your neighborhood is feasible from an engineering standpoint. The proximity of Bracketts Point to Lake Minnetonka is the primary factor suggesting municipal sewer service is preferable to long term septic system usage. In 1995 a neighborhood meeting was held to discuss the possibilities of sewer, and a majority of Bracketts Point residents signed a petition requesting municipal sewer. Bracketts Point was recently approved by the Metropolitan Council for inclusion within the Metropolitan Urban Service Area (MUSA). The proposed project involves the construction of sanitary sewer laterals and trunk facilities, and associated street resurfacing. Costs of the project are summarized in the table below. There are 15 (possibly 16) units in the Bracketts Point Area proposed to be assessed for the improvements. As noted during the neighborhood meeting held July 20,1995, the City will not be contributing toward the cost of these improvements.
