REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOV 2 2 W99 <br />CU V ohono <br />DATE: November 18,1999 <br />ITEM NO: j <br />Department Approval: <br />Name Ron Moorse <br />Title City Administrator <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />City Administrator's <br />Report <br />Item Description: Consolidation Study Grant - Resolution <br />The State Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation has a grant program through which it <br />will match local expenditures related to a consolidation study to a maximum of $10,000. The Long <br />Lake/Orono Consolidation Study Committee is making use of assistance from consultants and other <br />resource people to enable it to accomplish its purpose in an expedited manner. The costs to be <br />incurred for this assistance are estimated at $30,000. <br />The application for the Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation grant requires a resolution <br />from the City Council of each city involved in the consolidation study requesting funding for the <br />consolidation study. A resolution is attached for Council consideration. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt a resolution requesting funding from the Board of Government Innovation and <br />Cooperation to assist with costs associated with the Long Lake/Orono consolidation study.
