A RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUNDING FROM <br />THE BOARD OF GOVERNMENT INNOVATION AND COOPERATION <br />TO ASSIST WITH COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE <br />LONG LAKE/ORONO CONSOLIDATION STUDY <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Long Lake and Orono created a Consolidation Study Committee <br />to study and report back to the City Councils on the issue of the consolidation of the cities of Long <br />Lake and Orono; and <br />WHEREAS, the Consolidation Committee began discussions on consolidation in April, <br />1999 and hired a consulting firm to assist with the consolidation study; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Long and Orono are making application for funding from the <br />Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation for a matching grant of up to $10,000 to assist <br />with a portion of the costs associated with the consolidation study, as outlined in Minnesota Statutes <br />465.88, Planning aid for consolidation studies; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono agrees that the Board grant will be matched dollar for dollar <br />by funding from the Cities of Orono and Long Lake. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Orono does hereby request aid <br />from the Board of Government Innovation ana Cooperation to assist with the costs associated with <br />the study of consolidating the Cities of Long Lake and Orono. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held this <br />22nd day of November, 1999. <br />Gabriel Jabbour, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Linda S.
