Request for Council Action continued <br />Page 2 <br />April 8, 1999 <br />Orono Orchards Sanitary Sewer Project Assessment Hearing <br />Adoption of the Assessment <br />Attached is a resolution adopting the assessment. This resolution lists an interest rate of 8%. <br />This interest rate can be adjusted downward dependent on the interest rate received on this year ’s <br />bond sale. <br />In order for the assessment to be appealed, written notification must be presented at the <br />assessment hearing. Pending no appeals received, we are recommending approval of the <br />resol u'lon adopting the assessment. <br />Award of the Contract <br />Attached is a resolution awarding the contract for this project to Widmer, Inc. Pending adoption <br />of the assessment, we are recommending the award of the contract. Award of the contract now- <br />should allow for an early start of the project sometime in May. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Consideration of a policy on a 5 year deadline for connection to sewer for properties with <br />nonconforming septic system to the 3 foot separation rule. <br />Approval of the resolution adopting the assessment for the Orono Orchards sanitary sewer project. <br />Approval of the resolution awarding the contract to Widmer, Inc. for the Orono Orchards sanitary <br />sewer project.
