Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323-0066 <br />RE: TH 12 at Stubbs Bay Road North in the Ci^ of Orono <br />Cooperative Agreement Road Closure Project <br />Dear Mr. Gappa: <br />* * <br />Tlus letter is to inform you that Mn/DOT has allocated $130,000 to be used for the Stubbs Bay Road closure in <br />the City of Orono. This funding will be provided to the City to complete the permanent closure of Stubbs Bay <br />Road at Trunk Highway 12. The $130,000 is a lump sum amount to be provided to the City and will be <br />considered Mn/DOT’s total contribution to the project. <br />The funds are immediately available and the project must be under construction prior to June 30,1999 in order <br />to utilize the funds. The City will need to follow the Metro Division*s Cooperative Agreement process. This <br />will involve construction plan review and approval and the execution of a cooperative construction agreement <br />prior to advertising, bidding and awarding a project. <br />Enclosed with this letter you will iBnd a design guide book and sample plan that will assist you in working <br />through the required process. Although the enclosed sample plan is in metric, Mn/DOT will be converting <br />back to English, and therefore, will accept plans in English or metric units. Also, Mn/DOT will be holding the <br />Annual Cooperative Agreement Design Seminar on April 15,1999. It would be to your advantage to have the <br />project designer/manager attend the seminar. Please contact me if you are interested.
