Mrs. Storch stated that an individual gave her the “fingei'’ in the presence of her 4 year old. We have
identified the individual and have made it clear that is not acceptable behavior under any circumstances.
I also recall conunents that children on bicy cles should not be permitted to use the backroad. First there is
no prohibition in the CUP. Second, Woodhill is a family club and we encourage young people to use the
facilities. Woodhill Avenue is a public road maintained by the City of Orono.
The CUP gave the City authority to review usage of the “backroad” I have attached traffic count data for 2
two-week periods that indicate good weather brings members to the club. It also indicates some e.xit usage
has taken place. I have attached an explanation of the reason some usage numbers.
In virtually every Newsletter to members since the “backroad” was opened we have reminded members
that it was not to be used as an exit. We were aware of some inappropriate usage but incorrectly felt that it
was not a big concern to the residents of Woodhill Road.
As suggested by the Planning Commission we have initiated a log book to keep track of when the gate is
opened and closed and who was responsible.
I hope this information helps clarity* some of the issues raised at the meeting. If you have any additional
questions please feel free to contact me either directly at 473-6415 or through Mark Albrecht at Woodhill.
i
