Mabusth <br />noted again that there was no specific parking re­ <br />quirements for this type of restaurant and asked <br />for a recommendation from the Planning cd^ission. <br />The Planning Commission advised that 5 parking stalls Permit <br />on the west side of the building adequate to serve #600 <br />the proposed restaurant. It was noted that drive- <br />in establishments require 1 stall per 15 sf of floor <br />area and that restaurants serving liquor require 1 <br />stall per 80 sf of piO?Tic floor area. The total are <br />of the entire operation including kitchen and public <br />floor area is 324 sf. <br />Ad2uns moved to approve the Conditional Use Permit <br />for Fred Hintze and Bob Skinner and noted in the <br />absence of specific directions from the zoning code <br />concerning the parking requirements for this type <br />of restaurant, we recommend a minimum of 5 parking <br />stalls with the understanding that overflow parking <br />stalls are available to the rear of the building. <br />The signs of the proposed restaurant must conform <br />to the sign ordinance. <br />BOB SKINNER <br />FRED HINTZE <br />3416 Shoreline Dr. <br />Conditional Use <br />Motion seconded by Gloria McDonald <br />Nays (0). <br />Vote: Ayes (7), <br />The applicant was present. Mabusth explained that <br />since the meeting of February 2, 1981, one of the <br />three lots making up the required 10 acres of land <br />had been sold. In addition, Kroger advised that <br />the remaining 8 acres would simply be used as a <br />nursery. The sales part of his operation will be <br />conducted at another site, not located in Orono. <br />Rovegno moved to deny the Conditional Use Permit of <br />Jerome D. Kroger finding that a Conditional Use Permit <br />to grow trees is not necessary if the on site sales of <br />trees is not planned. <br />JEROME D.
