DOG REGULATION AND <br />LICENSING ADOPTED 4/1/84; ORDINANCE 57, 2ND SERIES ADOPTED 8/22/88; <br />ORDINANCE 60, 2ND SERIES ADOPTED 11/14/88; ORDIN/NCE 93, 2ND SERIES <br />ADOPTED 4/22/91; AND ORDINANCE NO. 133, 2ND SERIES ADOPTED 3/13/95. <br />The City Council of Orono ordains; <br />Repeal. Ordinance 9.12 adopted 4/1/84; Ordinance 57. 2nd Series adopted 8/22/88; Ordinance <br />60.2nd Senes adopted 11/14/8S; Ordinance 93. 2nd Series adopted 4/22/91 and Ordiiunce 133. <br />2nd Series adopted 3/13/95 are hereby repealed and replaced with the following language. <br />SEC. 9.12. DOG REGULATION AND LICENSING. <br />Subd. 1. Definition. For the purpose of this Section, "owner" means a person <br />who owas. harbors, feeds, boards or keeps a dog. <br />Subd. 2. Running at Large and Biting Dogs Prohibited. It is unlawful for the <br />owner of any dog to permit such animal to run at large. Any dog shall be deemed to be running <br />at large with the permission of the owner unless: <br />A. It is on a durable leash secured to an object which it cannot move and <br />is on the premises of the owner. <br />B. On a leash and under the control or within 10 feet and under the <br />effective conunand of the ».companying person of suitable age and discretion. <br />C III the owners’ fenced yard or other suiushle enclosure where the dog <br />cannot leave without human as;-istance. <br />D. In the owners’ yard and under effective command of an accompanying <br />person of suitable age and discretion present outside in the yard. <br />E. In a vehicle from which the dog cannot lea.e without human assistaiKe <br />provided it is not left unattended in violation of Miiuesota Stamtes. <br />Any dog having bitten a person or other animal, shall be forthwith impounded for the <br />period of incubation. <br />Subd. 3. Licen:; Required. It ir .-jJawful for the owner of any dog. six months
