Dugs cunfincd to a City licensed commercial kennel need not be <br />B. Dogs conTined to a City licensed residential kennel shall be individually <br />licensed but need not wear the license tag while they are confined in the kennel. <br />C. Dogs currently licensed by another jurisdiction may be temporarily <br />kept in the City for a period not to exceed thirty days provided the dog wears a tag or other <br />identification from such licensing jurisdiction, and provided that the current City license is <br />obtained if the temporary stay extends beyond thirty days or otherwise becomes permanent. <br />Dogs licensed by other jurisdictions are not exempt horn the kennel licensing requirements or <br />from any other provision of this Section. <br />Subd. 4. Application. All licenses shall be issued by the City and applications <br />therefore shall be accompanied by a certificate issued by a veterinarian licensed to practice in <br />the State of Minnesota, showing that the dog is vaccinated against rabies for the duration of the <br />applied for license. Should the rabies vaccination expire prior to the full term of the license, <br />the owner is responsible for updating such vaccination. No more than two dog licenses .shall <br />be issued to any one person or for any one lot, property or address at any one time unless there <br />shall first have been issued a current residential or commercial kennel license for said person, <br />lot property or address. <br />Subd. 5. Fees. All licenses and impounding fees provided for in this Section <br />shall be issued only upon payment in full of fees fixed and determined in accordance with City <br />Code Section 1.05. License fees shall be due for the full two-year license period except that <br />licenses issued in even-numbered years may be prorated to one-half of the two-year license fee. <br />No other prorating shall be permitted. <br />Subd. 6. Tag Required. All licensed dogs shall wear a collar and have a tag <br />firmly affixed thereto evidencing such license for the current year. A duplicate for a lost tag <br />may be issued by the City upon presentation of the receipt showing the payment of the license <br />fee for the current license period, and payment of the fee for a duplicate license. Tags shall not <br />be transferable, and no refund shall be made on any dog license fee because of leaving the City <br />or death of the dog before the expiration of the license. <br />Subd. 7. License Period. All dog licenses shall be issued and be valid for the <br />whole or unexpired portion of two year periods beginning on January 1 of each odd-numbered <br />year. All dog licenses regardless of the date of issuance shall expire on December 31 of each <br />even-numbered year. Dog owners shall apply for license renewal prior to the license expiration <br />date.
