As you are aware, this site was used by the Western Area
Fire Training Association (WAFTA) communities, but has since been suspected of having
environmental contamination. The study of this site will help determine what level of
contamination exists and may also help determine levels of liability among those who have used
the site.
Thank you for seeing that this appropriation was included in the original bill, and I hope that
with your support this funding will remain in the final appropriation as the bill makes it way
through the conference committee.
Sincerely,
Barbara A.
