The f .irking of oversized vehicles can have a negative impact on <br />neighboring residential properties, due to noise and odor-particularly if the vehicle has a diesel <br />engine. <br />The City’s current noise ordinance does not include language specific enough to adequately address <br />tliis issue. The attached amendment to the noise ordinance adds language that limits ^ time a truck <br />can be allowed to idle at the residential property to five minutes. This will limit both the noise and <br />odor impacts of oversized vehicles on adjacent residential properties. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt the attached ordinance amending the City’s Noise Ordinance. <br />J
