ORDINANCE NUMBER . SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTION 9.24, SUBDIVISION 4 <br />OF THE ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE <br />GOVERNING NOISE CONTROL <br />The City Council of the City of Otono ordains: <br />SECTION 1. Ordinance Amended. Ordinance Section 9.24, Subdivision 4, is hereby amended <br />by adding a sect’on with the following language: <br />**D. Oversize Trucks. The Council flnds that the starting and idling of oversize trucks <br />in residential areas unreasonably interferes with the enjoyment of life and property <br />and unreasonably disturbs the peace, quiet and repose of persons of ordinary <br />sensibility. Accordingly, any otherwise permitted parking of an oversize truck in a <br />residential area shall be allowed only if the truck is started and idled for the <br />minimum necessary time period, not to exceed five minutes, before being driven <br />off the property.” <br />SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published in THE PIONEER and THE LAKER <br />newspapers and shall be effective upon approval and publication. <br />ATTEST: <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono on this 14th day of July, 2003. <br />Linda S.
