Friday, February 14,2003. <br />The enclosed tabulation contains a complete accounting of all bids. <br />The accepted low bids for materials are determined by availability and location of materials. <br />Traveling distance to a supplier is considered a cost factor when determining a low bid. <br />When renting equipment with an operator, we are guided by the type, size of equipment, and <br />an hourly rate. It is possible to award the low bid to more than one contractor when <br />considering materials and equipment. In order to stimulate enthusiasm for the following year's <br />work, we make sure to divide the work .ccordingly among these low bidders. <br />In the event the low bidder is not available, the City reserves the right to purchase from the next <br />alternate. <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the bids as presented for the calendar year <br />2003. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the year 2003 Materials and Equipment Bids. <br />iiifmHftitrienMiiiiiL. <br />i
