The City of Orono is an Equal Opportunity Employer <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO <br /> <br />Position Title: Resource Management Technician <br />Document Date: January 1, 2022 <br />Department: Finance <br />Accountable to: Finance Director <br />FLSA Status: Non-exempt <br /> <br />Nature of Work <br />This position provides excellent customer service while providing support with administrative <br />functions of the Finance Department with a primary focus of Payroll and Utility Billing. <br /> <br />Supervision Received and Exercised <br />This position reports to the Finance Director and does not supervise other employees. <br />Examples of Work <br />Essential functions listed below are intended as illustrations of the various types of work that <br />may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the <br />work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. <br /> <br />• Responsible for the payroll process, including: compilation and recording of <br />employee time and payroll data, compute employees' time worked, post wages and <br />deductions, and prepare paychecks. <br />• Prepare payments and reports related to payroll benefits and withholdings. <br />• Assist with benefits administration by serving as the liaison between city employees <br />and benefit providers. <br />• Complete quarterly and annual payroll tax reports. <br />• Assist in preparing year-end audit work papers, and participate in the City’s annual <br />audit. <br />• Assist with benefits administration by serving as the liaison between city employees <br />and benefit providers. <br />• Update/Maintain fixed asset records and ensure that insurances schedules are updated <br />as assets are added and disposed of. <br />• Act as backup to the Accounts Payable function. <br />
