1 Q. THE EA MENTIONS (P. 28) THAT THE COMPANY IS CONDUCTING A NOISE <br /> 2 ASSESSMENT OF THE PROPOSED ORONO SUBSTATION. IS THIS NOISE <br /> 3 ASSESSMENT COMPLETE? <br /> 4 A. The Company is conducting a noise assessment and will provide the results of <br /> 5 this assessment once it is complete. The Company intends to file a copy of the <br /> 6 completed noise assessment report on edockets prior to the close of the public <br /> 7 comment period on January 6, 2012. The Company would request that the <br /> 8 comment period remain open for at least 10 business days after the Company <br /> 9 files this noise assessment so that stakeholders have an opportunity to <br /> 10 comment on it. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Public Outreach <br /> 13 Q. CAN YOU DESCRIBE THE PUBLIC OUTREACH CONDUCTED BY THE <br /> 14 COMPANY PRIOR TO SUBMITTING THE ROUTE PERMIT APPLICATION <br /> 15 ("APPLICATION") ON JUNE 7, 2011? <br /> 16 A. Prior to submitting the Application, the Company met with surrounding <br /> 17 landowners on three occasions. The Company solicited input from these <br /> 18 landowners on the most appropriate route for the transmission line and <br /> 19 answered questions regarding the Project. In addition, the Company met with <br /> 20 and/or had correspondence with the two landowners whose property is <br /> 21 crossed by existing Line 0831. The parties discussed options for routing the <br /> 22 proposed 115 kV transmission line and the possibility of moving the existing <br /> 23 Line 0831 off of their properties and onto adjacent HFHOA land. The <br /> 24 Company also met with and has had several telephone discussions with the <br /> 25 landowner west and adjacent to the existing Orono Substation site regarding <br /> 6 PUC Docket No. E002/TL-11-223 <br /> OAH Docket No. 8-2500-22429-02 <br /> Sedarski Direct <br />
