The City of Orono is an Equal Opportunity Employer <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO <br /> <br />Position Title: City Administrator <br />Document Date: January 1, 2016 <br />Department : Administration <br />Accountable to: City Council <br />FLSA Status: Exempt <br /> <br />Nature of Work <br />Appointed by the City Council to advise the Council regarding the policies, affairs, financial <br />conditions, governmental requirements and other needs of the City. Responsible for carrying out <br />the policies and directives of the Council, including any purcha sing functions. Administrator <br />represents the City in agreements, responsible for supervising all employees and managing the <br />budget. <br />Supervision Received and Exercised <br />Administrator supervises and directs the administrative affairs of the City, all departments and <br />contractors. Administrator reports to the City Council. <br />Examples of Work <br />Essential functions listed below are intended as illustrations of the various types of work that <br />may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the <br />work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. <br /> <br /> Assist the Council in identifying the vision and values of Orono and persistently guide <br />Council and staff to achieve the desired future. <br /> Assist in developing and administering the strategic plans for the City, which include: <br />comprehensive plan (transportation, shore-land management, parks, sanitary sewers, and <br />general development areas and long-range capital plan). <br /> Coordinate with other governmental agencies on str ategic needs of the City to facilitate <br />effective project management and identify fiscal resources. <br /> Facilitate intergovernmental cooperation with neighboring communities and other <br />government and non-profit partners, including shared services and other cooperative <br />ventures. <br />
