Proposals should be limited to a maximum of 30 pages, including all supporting documentation. <br /> <br />E. In order to ensure a fair review and selection process, firms submitting proposals are specifically <br />requested not to make other contacts with other City staff or Councilmembers regarding their proposals. <br /> <br />F. The city staff plan to review and analyze all proposals as well as schedule interviews in April <br />2021. The City plans to make a final selection by May 24th, 2021. <br /> <br />4. SCOPE OF WORK. The City of Orono is searching for a firm that will complete A/E design and <br />construction related services through completion of the project construction. The scope of services shall <br />include and be broken out in the following phases - conceptual planning and cost estimating, preliminary <br />site/building layouts, final design, preparation of construction documents, (plans, specifications, bidding <br />and contract documents, etc.), bidding administration, and construction administration for the following: <br />• Architectural <br />• Structural Engineering <br />• Mechanical Engineering (Plumbing/fire protection/HVAC) <br />• Electrical Engineering (Including low-voltage rough in) <br />• Furnishings, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) design and specifications <br />• Landscape Architecture <br />• Civil site engineering will be provided, as required, by the City Engineer’s Office and the City’s <br />Consulting Engineering firm Bolton and Menk, Inc. <br /> <br />5. SCHEDULE. The following schedule is intended to be a guideline. Each step will be dependent on <br />successful completion of the previous step and the city’s desire to continue with the project. <br /> <br />Selection of A&E Firm. May 2021 <br />Conceptual/feasibility plan and cost estimates July 2021 <br />Preliminary layout and design September 2021 <br />Complete Final Design December 2021 <br />Award Construction Contracts March 2022 <br />Site Preparation Spring 2022 <br />Building construction Summer-Fall 2022 <br /> <br />6. REQUIRED CONTENTS FOR PROPOSALS: <br />A. Title Page. Show the proposal subject, the name of the proposer’s firm, address, telephone <br />number, e-mail address, name of the contact person, and the date. <br /> <br />B. Table of Contents. Include a clear identification of the material by section and page number. <br /> <br />C. Proposing Firm Overview. Describe your firm’s background and history, including the number of <br />years in business. Include information about the firm’s experience performing similar municipal facilities <br />work. <br /> <br />D. Identification and Qualification of Assigned Personnel. <br />1. Describe your firm’s capacity for providing architecture, engineering and construction <br />management services as indicated in this RFQ. The ideal firm should have extensive experience in <br />municipal architectural engineering design and construction management. <br />2. Identify key staff, consultants and positions for each of the phases proposed for this work.
