• The Mayor, Ron and Jessica met with representatives from the Hennepin County Assessor's <br /> office to discuss property valuations. Based on the period from 10/1/2012 to 10/1/2013 <br /> residential property values will be increased by around 2%. This is the first increase in <br /> values since the 2007 assessment period. The County also provided information about the <br /> impact of the proposed maximum tax levies for 2014. The information includes all taxing <br /> entities: City, County, School District, Metropolitan Council, and Other Special Taxing <br /> Districts. 56.86% of residential properties in Orono experience no increase or a reduction <br /> in taxes. Another 30.13 percent will experience an increase of less than 5%.
