Dispensing lines between diked area or AST shall be underground and shall <br /> be in an approved secondary containment piping system. <br /> 21.Dispensing lines shall have an approved normally closed solenoid valve at <br /> each dispenser below the impact valve (for remote dispensers). <br /> 22. Fill pipes between a diked area or AST and the fill pipe opening shall be <br /> located underground. The fill pipe shall also be equipped with manually operated <br /> mechanical shut-off valve located inside the diked area but can be operated from <br /> outside the dike. (For remote fill locations) <br /> 23. ASTs shall be provided with lightning protection in accordance with National <br /> Fire Protection Association Standard 780 (1994 ed.) <br /> 24. When required by the local fire chief, multiple AST installations shall be <br /> protected by an approved fire protection system. <br /> The following are notes specific to this installation: <br /> 1. These tanks are subject to vehicle impact and are required to be protected <br /> according to the MUFC: the tank, product transfer station, piping and <br /> appurtenances must be provided with protection consisting of metal posts filled <br /> with concrete, sunk 3' deep with 15"footings. Posts shall extend at least 3' above <br /> grade, be spaced no more than 4' apart, and be at least 5' from the tank and/or <br /> appurtenances. Any other design must be approved as an engineering alternate <br /> before installation. <br />
