MINUTES OF THE REGULAR fJRONO PARK C()MMISSION <br /> MEETTNG HELD ON 3tJLY 7, 1997 <br /> (#2) OLD CRYSTAL BAY ROAB BIKE TRAIL UPDATE <br /> Crappa reparted that the bike trail has been paved to the student center. Some restvratian <br /> and seeding is still required. The Councii has rejected the bids for the last section as a <br /> resuit of a challenger to the process regarding an addendum. It will be rebid in 199.8, <br /> which will allow the City to know the plans being considered for the schooi property. <br /> Hennepin Parks will aiso be constructing their section of the trail next year. <br /> VVilsan asked if the DNR grant money has been received. Gappa said the money has not <br /> yet been received but shall be when the last trail connection is made. <br /> McDermott questioned fencing placed along the trail south of Highway 12 on Qid Crystal <br /> Bay Road. Gappa said the garticulaz fencing was a result of an easemerrt a�reernern. <br /> {#3)PARK DEVEL4PMENT PLANNII�TG/MA3NTENANCE <br /> Wilsan noted that the Cammission will reguiarly review the park plans. Gappa will update <br /> the progress being made at each park and its maintenance each momh. <br /> A. ANTOINE <br /> Gagpa regortec!that the playground equipmen# should arrive shortly. Site <br /> gregaration will take place when that accurs. Completion of the improvements <br /> should occur in early August. Gappa will eall and check on the anticipated date of <br /> arriva] for the equipment. Gappa indicateci tl�at the neighbors have asked that a <br /> portion of a garage be saved and doors removed. Gappa and Park Cornmissioners <br /> agreed that all of the buildings will be removed as pla.rmed. <br /> B. CRYSTAL BAY <br /> The pc�or condition of the fields was noted during the Park Tour. Gappa reported <br /> tha.t a contractor had extra black dirt he donated for use at the park. The City has <br /> agreed to pay for spreading of the Z,O(�7-3,000 yards of dirt. Wilson questioned <br /> whether the dirt will be seeded. Gappa said dormant seeding and mulchin�will be <br /> done in th�fall. Commissioners asked that something be done now. White <br /> suggested seeding now wi#h rye. Gappa said he wauld attempt to gut same type <br /> of seeding on the dirt. <br /> s <br />
