MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING HELD JUNE 17, 1974 <br />In addition, Mr. Monahan °s request involves a <br />variance from the side yard setback requirements. <br />Kullberg moved, Gasch seconded, that the Monahan <br />request for variances as applied for be denied, <br />but that any request that would conform with <br />all the side yard setback requirements by <br />moving the garage.to'the rear would be looked <br />upon favorably. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0). <br />A major portion of Oak Place has been vacated in <br />the past and the petitioner has requested the <br />City to vacate the remaining southern portion of <br />Oak Place.. <br />Kullberg moved, Hake seconded, that a public <br />hearing °regarding the vacation of Oak'Place <br />be called for July 15, 1974.' <br />The following additions were made to the - present <br />list of permitted uses in the industrial district. <br />The manufacture, fabrication, or processing of, <br />A. artifical limbs, B. cabinets, C. cabinets <br />and carpentry shop, D. electrical, plumbing, <br />heating, and air conditioning shop, E. camera <br />and photography, F. canning and packaging of <br />food stuff, G. creamery, dairy plants and ice <br />cream plants, H. drugs, cosmetics, pharmaceutical <br />and toiletries, I. products made of glass, <br />c6lophane, leather, plastic, wood, J. television, <br />radio and applicances, K. motor fuel stations, <br />L. restaurants (to serve the industrial area). <br />Under conditional uses in the current ordinance; <br />ready mix and /or concrete products was eliminated <br />as a conditional use and heliports were added, <br />which will be defined as for private or medical <br />uses only. <br />Under building design in the industrial zoning <br />code, the following was added regarding metal <br />buildings: any side of a building which faces <br />a street or abuts a residential district must <br />have one -third of its surface of some materials <br />other than prefinished metal with the remaining <br />sides made of at least 20% of materials other <br />than prefinished metal. Under landscaping in, <br />industrial districts, a provision should be <br />added which would require 50% opaque screen when <br />it borders on a residential area and outside <br />storage should be allowed as a conditional use <br />is long as screening is provided.
