H. Dahlmeier Engineering Inc. has been retained to provide a structural engineering review <br /> and report regarding the steel framing connections for the residence under construction at 1004 <br /> Tonkawa, Orono, MN as directed by John White of J. L. White Company. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Due to some connection misfits, field welding was used to connect several steel members in the <br /> framing system for this residence. <br /> The City Building Inspections Department desires an independent structural engineering review <br /> of these connections. <br /> OBSERVATIONS AND COMMENTS <br /> 1. Site visits were conducted by John H. Dahlmeier of J. H. Dahlmeier Engineering Inc. on <br /> December 19, 1998 and February 3, 1999 to review existing conditions. <br /> 2. Detailed information regarding framing layout, loads and construction was obtained <br /> during the first site visit.
