A36 steel plate by about 10 ft. long welded into <br /> a"dogleg", and bolted to the side of the 2 x 12 wood stair stringers and landing framing and ex- <br /> tending horizontally through the landing. Use 5/8 in. dia. bolts at 12 in. o.c. staggered up and <br /> down and add two additional bolts near the support points at each end and near the weld point. <br /> Use a full penetration weld plate to plate where the stair run meets the landing piece.
