City Council <br />Exhibit B <br />CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES <br />This CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES ("Contract") made and <br />entered into this day of , 20, by and between the CITY OF ORONO <br />("Orono"), a Minnesota municipal corporation, and the CITY OF MINNETONKA BEACH <br />("Minnetonka Beach"), a Minnesota municipal corporation. <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, Minnetonka Beach is desirous of contracting with Orono for the <br />performance of law enforcement services within Minnetonka Beach; and <br />WHEREAS, Orono is agreeable to render law enforcement services on the terms and <br />conditions hereinafter set forth; and <br />WHEREAS, a contract such as this is authorized under and by virtue of the provisions of <br />Minnesota Statutes Section 471.59; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, Orono agrees that it will provide law enforcement services for <br />Minnetonka Beach on the following terms and conditions and Minnetonka Beach agrees as <br />follows: <br />1. Duration of Contract. 1'he term of this Contract is for five (5) years commencing on <br />January 1, 2018. This Contract will automatically renew for a period of five (5) years, <br />unless Orono or Minnetonka Beach provide notice, no later than one (1) year prior to the <br />expiration date of the original or renewed contract. <br />2. Cost of Services. In consideration of furnishing law enforcement services under this <br />Contract, Minnetonka Beach shall pay Orono the following: <br />A. Year 1 (2018), Initial base cost of $141,000.00 <br />B. Year 2 (2019), $141,000.00 <br />C. Years 3-5, cost to increase by Union wage increase (with a minimum percentage <br />to be no less than 1% and a maximum cap of 5%) <br />The payments shall be made in equal installments monthly beginning on January lit of <br />2018. Capital equipment and headquarter related expenses are included in the base <br />contract cost. Unexpected major expenditures attributable to Minnetonka Beach may be <br />brought to the Joint Police Commission for review and if approved these would increase <br />the base budget. Unexpected major expenditures attributable to all of the municipalities <br />to which Orono provides law enforcement services also may be brought to the Joint <br />Police Commission for review and, if approved, will increase the base budget by the <br />amount of such expenditures multiplied by the ratio of Minnetonka Beach's then -current <br />base amount divided by the total cost of law enforcement services that Orono provides to <br />all municipalities, including itself.
